It is coming to that time at the end of the semester where all the assignements are due. Many students during their time at University often don't know how to reference properly. They often don't know where to get assistance for free. We suggest some of the ways where you can get assistance for free.
1) Your University's study and learning service. Katherine has been to the Study and Learning centre before and knows that they only have three to five appointments per student. At the end of the semester they see lots and lots of students. So its best to book at the start of semester.
Oh and another thing too. Some universities like RMIT have free drop in sessions for about 15 mins on designated days. Their timetable is online at your University's site.
They don't do the work for you, but they can give you ways on improving your referencing skills. Make sure that you come prepared and bring them a draft of your assignment.
2) Libraries- they have a lot of free classes for students. You just need to sign up at the start of semester either online or at their Orientation days where the library has a stall.
3) Endnote- it is an online referencing software used by universities in Australia. You can download this and access it anywhere. Most libraries run these free how to use Endnote classes at the start of semester.
But here is a guide on using Endnote (taken from You tube)
4) You can also ask your lecturer as they will have the knowledge about the style that they will want you to use. But most lecturers may have limited time for their students as they often have other things to take care of.
