KWAVE Festival

KWAVE festival is the first ever Korean Culture Festival in Melbourne. Their aim is to bring all Koreans together as well as educate the locals about Korean culture. With Korean culture and food being really popular in Melbourne now is a great time for the festival to happen. There is fun to be had.

“We just want this KWAVE Festival to be an opportunity for the general public to have fun, dance to some K-Pop, try some kimchi pancake and by the end of the night, we just hope everyone leaves with a good impression of Korea’s food, music and culture.” Helen Le, SQ entertainment.

It is on on the 7th of September at Federation Square from 12pm-9pm. You can catch a train to Flinders st station and most trams also go past Flinders st as well. From Elizabeth st it just a short walk towards the MCG.

Presented by SQ Entertainment.

This event is set to promote Korean culture and food through stalls and Kimchi eating competitions.

Throughout the day there will be many performances including the Taekwondo at 2pm. At 6pm there is the all important Kimchi eating competition. It ends with a special DJ guest playing the KPOP Koreans know and love.

There are other highlights which include photo opportunities with the event Mascot "Barami", prizes to be won, a Hanabok (Korean dress) showcase as well as dance performances.

Don't miss out on this cultural festival. This is set to be just as fun as the Japanese festivals.
