Got a new phone? Are you trying to work out how to save your money? Here are some ways to save on your bill.
1) Go prepaid for your first mobile in Australia. You can pay whenever you want, whatever you want and there are no lock in contracts. You can't go into debt.
There might be higher call costs depending on which company you choose.
BUT
If you do decide to go on a plan:
2) Read the fine print carefully. Make sure you understand it. Make sure you know what is included.
3) 1MB of data= $2. If you have Internet included use it.
4) International calls on your mobile costs a lot of money. If you have Skype use it rather than call your parents on your phone unless they are on the same company.
5) Don't download the things that you don't need or use. They take up storage space on your phone and some of them can be quite costly and can add to the data charges. Some of them are also scams.
6) Sending MMS all the time costs money. Each MMS costs about $0.75 to $1 to send. Instead if you are ok with this, why not upload it on to Facebook? Its free and all your friends can see it. If you want a particular friend to see it why not send it in a private message
7) Calls to 1300 and 1900 numbers are more expensive than normal calls, so if you can, vote on Facebook or the website (as it is free). these number are what are known as Premium numbers for premium services.
And the final rule is: DON'T SPEND WHAT YOU HAVE NOT GOT.
