I was going shopping for stockings and other winter things when I saw my favourite place David Jones (DJ) food hall. I had promised myself that I would try out their espresso bar and patisserie for a long time.
The DJ Food hall brings a lot of people. Many of them are health food fanatics like me.
DJ's food hall stocks groceries, asian food, sushi, meats, ready made meals, fruits, vegetables, salads, patisserie, espresso bar and confectionery from all over the world. Here you can just choose whatever you feel like eating, take a ticket from one of the stands, wait for your number to be called, order and pay for it. They even have a few tables for you to enjoy your lunch.
I had a chai with milk ($3.50 per pot), melting moments biscuit ($1.40 per piece), chocolate friand ($2.95 each) and a baby cupcake ($2.95 each). These were so cute that I had to try one.
The chai from the espresso bar was really bland. Maybe it is not their speciality or it might be just the tea powder. The tea powder is from T2. There wasn't any sugar to go with it.
The espresso bar specialises in hot chocolates and coffees. The staff there were really lovely and let me buy cakes from the patisserie.
The cakes and biscuit on the other hand melted in my mouth. They were full of goodness.
I am willing to come back here and try the hot chocolates from the espresso bar.
I was motivated to buy a salad from DJ Foodhall. I bought a take away wild rice salad ($6.75 for a medium tub) and am yet to try it.
