Writing services

They are services where people write assignments for you. These are most commonly advertised on Facebook and Twitter and Google. These cost hundreds of dollars. You have no idea who is writing the assignment for you. It may save you a fail in the interim but believe me you will be caught by RMIT or any other uni.  Student you may think that this can help you get better marks because your English is not as good as locals, but trust me when I say: LECTURERS DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ENGLISH THEY ONLY CARE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT IS BEING TAUGHT IN CLASS!!!!

But did you know that using these services to write assignments for you is plagiarism in RMIT's eyes? Well it is and if students use these services and the lecturer finds out then you can be charged with plagiarism. Plagiarism is a big big issue in RMIT and other universities in Melbourne and there are some very severe penalties for this such as exclusion or expulsion.

So how does your lecturer find out?
They find out in all sorts of ways such as:
* Via an online software called Turnitin
* Via knowing you and knowing how bad your English is.
* Reading the articles themselves
* Later assessments such as exams where students do need to demonstrate understanding

The bottom line is.... DO NOT USE THEM!!!!! You learn nothing by using them!!!! RMIT will do their best to get rid of these services. You should go to their study and learning centre to get help writing assignments or form some study groups. RMIT has also got a mentor service for Business students called SLAMS. Other unis have some sort of study and learning services so go and use them instead of these writing services.

The new library in Melbourne Central

The library just opened a few days ago

And it is here you can borrow books for free. And return them anytime you want or replace them with your own books.

Save tafe rally

For some time now Mr Baillieu has cut some of the funding for the TAFE courses in Melbourne, meaning that about 2000 jobs will go and 10000 students might be disadvantaged including International students. TAFE is a pathway to University. It is what the working class can afford. If Mr Baillieu cuts the funding then it would be harder and harder for International students as well as locals. To read more about it click here.
Today there was a big protest outside of Parliament. My friend and I attended the rally. Thousands of people came and we all shouted.
Pictures of the rally.

The reject shop

Here everything is under $10. There's heaps of snack foods, cleaning stuff and mops and hair stuff. And they sell ktichen utensils for $2 to $3 bucks ( for good stuff that is)

Hall st larder

Ah this is what used to be an exceptional French place with all the pantry goods being sold. Well not anymore. The name "Hall st Larder" did really mislead me because I thought that there would be some produce sold here and I was looking around for it.
There are quite a few all day breakfast specials and the crowds are what drew me in when I was doing errands.

But inside was a different story. The service was a bit cold and there was a lady in the kitchen that frowned quite a fair amount. I was trying to take pictures of the food being displayed in the kitchen but that lady gave me a cold look. This was after I've ordered and found my place of course.
There's not a whole lot of outdoor seating like there used to be.
I got drawn into the cakes and of course I had to have those as well as the "$10 breakfast special with hot chocolate" and add about $2 for spinach which I thought it was great at the time, but  IT'S A BLOODY RIP OFF!!!! FOR SUCH COLD AND BAD SERVICE!!! There was one lady that smiled. The rest didn't.
And when I asked for my chilli sauce they said that they ran out. WHO WOULD RUN OUT OF CHILLI SAUCE AT 11.30AM???? Shocking!!!!
The eggs were nicely done but I think it needs be a little more spicy to add that extra flavour. Otherwise it turns bland. The toast was dry at the edges. The spinach was a little overcooked and some of the toast became soggy.
The hot chocolate was really lukewarn and bland.
The cakes were good though. I loved the flourless cake ($5.90- a bit steep for a small cake, but it was cute and really moist and dense). Same as with the cupcake ($1 for such a cute one).
I hope that they lift their game soon, or otherwise I will not be back. I might just come back for their cakes and salads (The salad looked really good btw but it was too cold for one). To the manager GET RID OF SOME OF YOUR COLD, USELESS STAFF THAT DON'T SMILE AND GIVE REALLY COLD LOOKS!!!!
