I went to this pub twice. Once for dinner and the other one with Study Melbourne for lunch.
Jackson and Co is a pub in Ballarat and it was a cold wintry night. It is across the road from the Art Gallery of Ballarat. This pub was quiet for a mid week dinner but the service was very attentive. But during lunch on Tuesday it was busy with the locals and the tourists.
I quite liked the young waitress.
It was the Foto Biennale hence all the pictures of migrants food and cooking. It was a joy to see.
If you order and book before 6pm then you get 10% off your bill or $10 pizza.
Moreover the sweet potato wedges were a joy to eat. These were lightly fried to perfection. But the pasta at $28 was a little bit overcooked s it was soft and fell apart.. I liked the sauce though.
Then I came back here with Study Melbourne and they paid for all the meals. Again we had the sweet potato fries and someone had pasta. This time there were $15 lunch specials which most people had except for the vegetarians and for the people that liked the parmas.
Being a country pub there isn't a whole lot of vegetarian food on the menu except for the pizzas. Even the guy that ordered the pizza didn't really like it much as he didn't finish his food. Leandro ordered curry and he liked it.
Rating: 13/20- go for the sweet potato wedges. Ming might like the parma though
