RNIS was invited to try Harry's bar and did not have to pay.
Harry's Bar and Food Room is in Young st, just around the corner from Moonee Ponds station and outside Woolworths. It used to be Vicolo bar and it was owned by the same person, Maria. Vicolo wasn't doing so well and Harry's is now.
Harry's was opened about three weeks ago so they are still trying to sort out their stuff. Needless to say everyone enjoyed their meals. The service there was friendly but that lock on the toilet door was not. Hopefully they will sort this out.
They are a little Italian pizza and pasta bar. Here I really enjoyed their focaccia which was olive and garlic and worked well with my marinara.
This time the mussels in my marinara were great and cooked perfectly. Some of the clams were hard to open though. So sorry I left some of the flesh inside. The linguine was al dente. I did love the prawns though but the flavour was drowned out by the sauce. There was too much of that
TO finish things off I had a scoop of chocolate gelato. Magic!
Rating: 18/20- will visit again when they are not so busy. And I also suggest that Gastrology and other bloggers visit this fine place.
