As part of Bupa's best blog competition for 2015.
We were constantly inundated with the ad of the Expo at Fitness First. And intrigued.
RNIS went to the recent Melbourne Fitness Expo in Melbourne Exhibition centre. It cost us $25 per person to get in (online only, its about $30-$35 on the door and with the door sales there are long queues and you don't get all the time in the world to do everything you want). With online it is simply buy it with Paypal and then off you go.
We did a search online for previous year's Fitness expo reviews and competitions to win free tickets but nothing. We were surprised.
But when we went in we were surprised to see lots and lots of bikes and gym junkies. I now am a little bit of a gym junkie and thank god we didn't come in jeans but exercise gear and sneakers. That meant that we had a chance to participate in the free workouts. One of them was Les Mill's bodyjam which was a lot of fun. Although have to admit though we are a little bit uncoordinated.
Also the lunges were good too
Also there was the longest jump competition plus boxing which was fun to watch and participate.
We tried many of the protein shakes. One of the reasons why I don't like them is because of the added sugar and many of them were sickly sweet. There were some which were pure water though.
We went to a talk about dieting properly for the busy person and one of the key things that was mentioned was to plan meals ahead so that you have everything that you need. Another one is to have 2 to 3 salad bowls of veggies a day and lots of fruits. Another one is to regulate your eating times.
We didn't go away empty handed. We won a pill box. That will come in handy when we need it.
Do go to next years one as it is worth your money.
