Metropol

Metropol is in St Kilda outside the St Kilda Station. It is near a block of modern apartments.

RNIS bought a Groupon for this place and they really enjoyed themselves here. The Groupon was $20 for $40 spend at any JBS Hospitality venue including this one.

Inside was really nice and cosy. We didn't want to be outside as it was too cold.

The waitstaff were very friendly and the bartender enjoyed doing his thang. In fact we loved watching the bartender make his drinks. Also we loved chatting with the waitstaff after our meal. That is how friendly they were.

We picked Wednesday night as a good night to come as they had $2 soft tacos and $8 margheritas. We had the fish and the vegetarian one and we enjoyed both. But we enjoyed the fish one even more as the salsa and the grilled fish played our tastebuds a lot.
Stuffed portabello mushrooms (left), vegetarian taco (top) and salmon two ways (right)

We also enjoyed the salmon two ways ($14) and the stuffed portabello mushrooms ($12). Here we loved how they were visually attractive when they came to the table. They were small but moreish. I really loved how put cheese into the dish, but those that hate cheese or can't eat cheese might not like the dish. But the mushroom was cooked well and so was the veg

The salmon two ways was just brilliant. The fresh fish was on the sweetish side which is a good thing and we loved the salmon cream and cucumber as those flavours danced perfectly.

We had room and enough money for dessert ($9). So we ordered chocolate brownie with passionfruit ice cream. Not that it can be called ice cream; it was more cream. But hey it worked for the dessert. Again all the flavours were tantilising on our tastebuds and we loved that this cake is moist and very very decadent

Rating: 17/20- a very happy new International student. Considering that this is a pub the prices here are really good compared with what you get in the CBD pubs (the really good ones). The really good ones in the city are more expensive for the same amount of food.

P.S they have just opened recently so do give them a chance. They are thinking about doing something with the bloggers soon. Other bloggers do come and visit this place.

I also have no idea where a user on Urbanspoon got that menu from as it is not their current one. Their current one doesn't offer a lot of food and does desserts.
