As part of Bupa's best blog competition for 2015
RNIS bought a Groupon for $12.50 so they did not have to pay for their meal. The $12.50 Groupon included one coffee or sparkling wine and one breakfast meal.
ZaZa's is just off Bridge Road and near the city. The place is very clean and its next to an apartment complex. Not only are they a cafe, they also sell lots of Italian goods such as the tuna (above).
The service was lovely and it was relaxed in there. They do cooking classes from time to time and as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine festival they did a masterclass on sweets which I did not know about until much later.
Their motto is: "Melburnians can do it better". Now is that true?
What appealed to us was the quinoa porridge as quinoa is a low GI food that is rich in fiber. The fruits gave it some vitamin c and the ginger warmed us. The dried fruits gave us some iron for the day. I really enjoyed this unusual brunch style dish as it had that nuttiness from the quinoa and the spiciness from the ginger. I also loved all the fruits in there.
The cream went well with everything.
Their chai was also very good. It was frothy and aromatic. It was little bit sweet from the cinnamon and cardamom spices.
Rating: 16/20- health freak. Would go again. But this time would try their nutella pizza as they specialise in this, but unfortunately was not a part of the Groupon deal and by that stage I was already full.
