As part of Bupa's best blog competition for 2015.
This trail is free and its about 2-3 hours long depending on where you start and where you finish. And where you explore in between. Steps on this trail amount to about 20000-25000 depending on where and which piers you visit.
It's best to visit in summer when it is not too hot, i.e 24 degree days. Along the way there aren't too many drinking fountains. At the St Kilda beach there are some, so do bring your water bottle.
In Middle Park when we passed there were not many cafes or shops selling water. In Port Melbourne at the station there is a Foodworks.
You will get tired along the way, but along the way there are cafes and quaint little beach shops in which you can visit. You can also visit the lifesavers club cafes. Because it was the Christmas new year period many of them had shut.
Along the way there are always cute dogs which you can pat. RNIS patted a fair few.
For some part of the journey dogs are not permitted on the beach. That is true for Middle Park and Albert Park beach.
At Middle Park we tried the exercise thing. It was good. And there we collected shells.
We started in St Kilda at Luna park and finished up in Port Melbourne at the Spirit of Tasmania. It was a long walk but a good one.
