Students need to know where you can buy good stationery which doesn't break the bank. We send Claudia out to find all the stationery for under $50 and here are our results.
Typo
Here you can walk with a whole bag full of goodies for under $20. Most things start at $10. You can buy three notebooks for $10. You can buy a noticeboard for $14.95.
UMSU's stationery sale
That's University of Melbourne's student union. This is only for Uni of Melbourne's students. I think they give away stationery for next to nothing. Since we're all RMIT students we weren't able to get any stationery. This would be great if our student union can do this once in a while.
Officeworks
At the start of the uni year they have a stall at most unis, hence free stationery. But at other times do go and visit them as they are all over Melbourne.
They do have a back to school sale in January so if you are in Melbourne by then do buy your stationery early as it is quite cheap. You can easily walk out with a lot of stationery for under $30 during that period.
Oh and guess what printing is only $0.08 per page. Like RMIT you'll get a photocopy card and you can recharge it with however much money you will use.
Daiso
Here everything is $2.80 which is great value for the pack of pens or books that you need. Daiso is a Japanese store all over Melbourne with goods imported from Japan.
All the stationery is quite cute to look at and they work well.
Orientation days
They are a chance to pick up some stationery without paying anything. But the only downside is that they are no frills stationery and sometimes they don't work. But it is nice to pick up that book. Or that ruler.
Current students: got any ideas as to where to find cheap stationery in Melbourne?
