The Upcoming Fiesta Malaysia 2014

And why it is better than the last years.
The logo from the Fiesta Malaysia event page

This years festival will be on Sunday 25th of May from 11am-5:30pm in Federation Square. This is easy to get to by tram and the train station is across the road from the Square.

Foodies rejoice! Here you can sample the many delights from Sambal Kampung, Leedersheep, Mamak and others as they bring you the delights of Malaysia. Even if you have never been you can try the food. All foods will be priced somewhere between the $10-$15 mark and drinks from the $4-$6 mark. As there is only atm on site do bring enough cash. There are atms inside Flinders st and Southern cross stations as well as Melbourne Central.
Congkak

There will be many Malaysian games such as Congkak which is a marble game where you can collect the marbles. If you don't know how to play you can ask the friendly volunteers to help you out or you can watch others play. The games are free.

Also returning this year is the durian eating competition and the roti making competition. I didn't partake in these but I heard that they were so much fun.  The costume booth and the wedding ceremonies are also going to be there. The wedding ceremonies are performed by volunteers.

Red Hongyi is a new attraction in where she showcases her artworks. I'm yet to see them but I have heard that they are about food and coffee in Malaysia.

These are some of last years pictures so you know what to expect, but I also did a post last year about this festival. You can read it here.
