Greening at Rmit

Greening is a RMIT Student Union Environment collective initiative which is run by students for students.
This project started late last year. The aim is to teach students about biodiversity and about the environment.

Cactus

Here students can assist with the planting and make some friends along the way.

The idea started last year when Student Union had their own pop up patch at Fed Square. Ever since then it has been successful.

Last Friday I was invited to their opening in which they showcased their plants.  At their opening I saw that a lot of work went into making their patches over the course of the semester.

Students work hard to create things like this

This is the start of one patch

All the produce from their plants are donated to the Realfoods cafe.

If you want to help out, you can contact the Student Union's Environment dept.  Their contact details are here.  They run many meetings and projects like these over the course of the academic year.
