Just recently the City of Melbourne has released a new report, called the International students strategy- 2013-2017. Last year many International students and the tertiary providers participated in such meetings to help shape Melbourne's future.
It aims to be a much better knowledge city within four years and it aims to strengthen ties with Asia. Many International students love the culture and diversity of Melbourne.
Melbourne is a knowledge city and the City of Melbourne would like to include a lot more international students. It is said that about 50% of students worry about money and 60% live on less than $20,000 per year. It is said that most if not all spend about $42,000+ per year on tuition and living fees. Many students find it difficult to find a job and most end up working in cash in hand jobs.
Transport is another big concern with many International students not eligible for concession.
So what are the goals for the next four years? These goals are taken from their paper which can be viewed online
