I bought the Groupon for this for $10. It was $10 for $26 worth of food and coffee/tea.
Kids Kitchen and Espresso is outside the Shrine of Rememberance and is a stone's throw away from Domain Interchange. Hence it is easy to get to from St Kilda and South Yarra by tram.

They had been opened for two months. Sadly there had been a lot of bad comments via Urbanspoon which the owner was not too happy about and got them removed. They have EFTPOS but no Paypass/Paywave.
The waitress I think is American. And the owner too.
The artworks from the local primary is just outstanding. And so is the decorations. I just had to take photos.
I saw the waitress making juice and it sure did look good.
I had a long black ( I think it was $3.50) and a hippie breakfast ($16, but $20 with the salmon and maybe $2 extra for the onion?). The hippie breakfast came with eggs your way, tomato, mushrooms and a supergreen food called Kale. Kale tastes a bit like spinach, but its a lot harder in texture. I chose scrambled eggs.
I loved the meal, but there's a few minor things that were wrong with it. Firstly the eggs were a little bit bland, so I added some salt and herbs to it. I also mixed in the caramelized onions and it tasted way better. The salmon was just a touch over cooked.
The tomato was cold but I didn't mind.
The long black was a little bit watery. They use Jasper coffee which is fairtrade coffee.
On my way out I received a free cookie full of love. It was moist and buttery with a hint of cinamon.
Verdict: I would love to come back to try a lot of other things on the menu. And to all the haters out there, give them some time to improve things. I know that the start has been shaky, but just give them some time.
This is what the city side of South Melbourne needs; a good decent cafe. Not a crappy Asian cafe.
Oh and I didn't mind that there wasn't any beans with my breakfast as I hate baked beans. I didn't want to be arty farty all day.
