Dessert doesn't have to be expensive to be good and filling. A lot of students cannot afford expensive desserts. Here's where to get the best dessert in Melbourne for under $10
1) Roule Galette- They do French crepes and their dessert ones are under $10. They have two places; one off Flinders lane and the other one is near Crown casino.
2) La Petite Creperie-yummy crepes and all under $6. They are in a little cute newspaper stand. I got my favourite lemon sugar crepe and it kept me nice and warm on a cold winters day.
3) Il Dolce Freddo- they are rated one of the top places in Melbourne. I had a small ice cream for $5.70. With it came two big scoops of mouth watering ice cream. They are a little ice cream shop hence they only do take away. It has been around for quite a few years and they seem to be doing well.
4) Patterns cafe- here they have HK style waffles for $5 and other goodies as well. I had a chance to try the HK style waffles and it was yummy. The HK waffle was huge and filling for the amount I paid. All the desserts are priced somewhere between $5-$9.
This Taiwanese cafe is really popular with all the students
5) Cupcake Central- They have lovely cupcakes- small for $2.20 and large for $4. They have three stores in Melbourne: Highpoint, Glenferrie and the city. You might remember the other blog post about this. But the large cupcakes here are sure filling. We have a post here and here about them.
6) Yoghuraddiction- although a food truck they have the cheapest froyo in town. Froyo is short for frozen yoghurt. This type is healthy and low in fat. Yum. They have small ($3) to large ($5) and you can add three toppings for $2. Yummy. Now this is what I call cheap but good. As they move around Melbourne you do have to follow them on Twitter and Facebook.
7) La Belle Miette- this is rated one of Melbourne's best macaroon places and you can read about it here.
8) Chokolait- Here they have the best chocolate pavalova for just $10. Their pieces are huge so its best to go with a friend.
9) Koko Black- I have always liked and loved this place for god knows how long. There are several posts on my blog about this. You can read about them here, here and here.
Got any favorites for under $10? Let us know below. Also if there is a new, but great dessert place opening let us know too.
