As part of Cheese Week (26/10/2013- 1/11/2013).
This the Market's way of promoting their different types and brands of cheeses. They do this every year.
I was invited to attend a tasting of the King Dairy Island cheeses at the Blanco Kitchen in Prahran Market.
King Island Dairy Cheeses has been around for many years and they are still growing strong. Their factory is based in Tasmania but they sell many of their cheeses in supermarkets all over Australia. Also you can get them at the deli.
Here there were lots and lots of different cheeses there such as the baked cheese with honey which I just had to try. I was so addicted to these. I also trying the brie cheese with the fruit bread and the dried fruits courtesy of 53 Degrees East.
I loved the brie as I always do.
But I also loved their blue vein and cheddar cheeses. The Blue Vein didn't have that really weird taste. The flavour was really mild.
Most of the cheeses went really well with the fig paste.
I received a free Cheese matters book by Naomi Chrisante (normally $19.95) as well another shopping list.
Many thanks to Prahran Market for the invite and I look forward to coming again next year.
