Here are some of the canned food I tried.
Ratings: 1= Not recommended
2 = very disappointing
3= neutral
4= good, will try again
5= will recommend
1) Coles canned tuna- $0.90 for a tiny can with lots of oil but not a lot of fish. Because there is too much oil the pieces of fish were seperated and thus made my sandwich soggy. Not recommended for sandwiches but maybe for pasta. Rating: 2.8/5
2) Edgells 3- bean mix. You can get them in various different sizes. Prices range from $1.80-$3.49 (for a pack of 4 small cans). You can do anything with these such as make bean salads and mexican meals. These are very filling for you. Rating: 3.8/5.
3) Heinz canned chicken- Price is $1-$1.90 at most supermarkets. It tastes more like canned tuna. If I wanted to have canned tuna I would buy a proper can of tuna. Next time I will buy chicken slices. Not recommended. Rating 1/5
4) John Wests tuna slices- they are versatile and goes with anything. You can do a wild rice salad with it or a pasta or even put it in sandwiches. They come in a rectangular tin. Rating: 4.5/5
5) Edgells Sweet corn- you can buy them in big tins or small tins. Tins range from $1-$3.50 (pack of 4 small tins). They can eaten by themselves or put into salad or asian dishes. Rating: 4.2/5
6) Edgells Chickpeas- these have oil in them and lots of it. You can buy them as a big can or a little can. These range from $1.50-$4 (pack of 4 cans). They can be in pasta or salad. Or they can be eaten on their own. Rating: 3.9/5
