About the Blog

This blog is for new international students coming into Melbourne. It features all the info about food, welfare and other issues that you may face as a student. This blog will give you some tips on surviving in Melbourne.

All prices on this blog are quoted in Australian Dollars ($AUD) and give some indication of how much food and things cost. Due to the economic climate, prices may have risen or dropped by the time you come to Australia.
Melbourne has two zones (zones 1 and 2) for travelling in suburban Melbourne and you have to use MKYI to travel on all of Melbourne's buses/trains/trams within that zone. There are special zones for country towns.
You can check out: www.ptv.vic.gov.au for more information on ticketing.
Zone 1 covers all the inner suburbs.
All the places are usually either in zone 1 or zone 2, or in the CBD and it will be disclosed when I review places.
Feel free to ask about anything you like and I'll get back to you.

You can also befriend me on Facebook. I'm known as Sally Li and I have a green soup face. In the message bar just say that you are "a new international uni student" or quote the blogs name. Or otherwise I'll delete you.

If you have any questions and a Facebook account feel free to write me messages. Or otherwise you can ask it here.

Thanks for visiting
